Great news for Tacoma Washington Bicycle Club members! TWBC has become a Platinum Sponsor of the Cycling Over Sixty team for the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure on May 2, 2026 – and that means support for our members who want to participate.
What This Means for You
For the first five TWBC members in good standing who raise $125 in donations, the club will match it with another $125. That's the full $250 donation level needed to qualify for the ride. Plus, your $30 registration fee counts toward that $250 requirement, making your actual fundraising target even more manageable. It might seem early to be focused on a ride in May, but there is a lot of planning to do before the event. Please take advantage of this matching support as soon as possible.
Why This Partnership Matters
This sponsorship reflects TWBC's commitment to supporting our members in meaningful community engagement. The Tour de Cure aligns perfectly with our values – it's about cycling, community, and making a difference. For over 30 years, this event has been the ADA's signature fundraiser, with every dollar going directly toward ending diabetes, a disease that affects nearly 40 million Americans.
The Cycling Over Sixty Connection
This ride is about more than just the miles – it's about showing that cycling later in life helps people stay vibrant. When we ride together as a team, we make a statement, loud and clear, about the value of being active.
And here's a bonus: Thanks to jersey sponsor Konvergent Wealth in Gig Harbor, the first 50 qualified team members receive a free Cycling Over Sixty jersey. These jerseys help us ride as a unified team and showcase what we're all about.
