I hope you enjoyed the nice unusual weather in October. Charlene and I went to Southern Portugal with the Bicycle Adventure Club. It was not too warm and we ate many tropical fruits along the way.
Unfortunately, we missed the Pierce County Trails Conference and the State Trails Conference this year, but Tom Butler and others were there to represent our club.
We also missed the annual fundraiser event for our partner Tacoma on the Go. On November 8, we do get to attend the annual fundraiser for our partner 2nd Cycle. Our club will have two tables this year thanks to Sue Nicholson and Tom Butler's efforts. You can still buy tickets to Bike Stories on the 2nd Cycle website. It runs from 4:30 to 7:30 @ the Tacoma Armory.
In late November we fly off to the big island of Hawaii for a Bicycle Adventure Club trip with a couple club members.
Looking towards the future I plan to spend time with ForeverGreen Trails and Foothills Rails-to-Trails Coalition staff to prioritize efforts to get future Trails built and connected. We rely on Tacoma on the Go to get improvements in the City. In Pierce County and the smaller towns we lobby and advocate for improvements. We encourage you to participate in advocacy especially where you live.
Next year our club and Foothills Rails to Trails Coalition hopes to put on a riding event that includes Enumclaw.
I hope you find some nice days to get out on your bike in November. You are also welcome to attend our club meeting on Tuesday, November 10 @ 6pm @ Wheelock library. We hope to approve the annual budget and have some fellowship.
