President's Report for September

Greetings my fellow cyclists.   I hope you had time to get out and ride in August.  We started with Ashford Bicycle Week at the Sahara Creek Horse Camp.   Fred Johnstone rode to camp from Tacoma.  Thomas Harrison and Steve Brown joined Charlene and I.  We rode a backroad to Longmire for lunch on Tuesday.  On Wednesday we cleaned up the Old Hersey Road and then used it to ride to Elbe for lunch.  The fire smoke was thick on Thursday so we decided to go home one day early.

Several members were able to ride the RSVP from Seattle to Vancouver BC.

On Sunday August 30, Tom Butler put on the second Cycling over Sixty Ride featuring the Foothills Trail with four different distances including a Metric Century.  About 40 people came out to enjoy the day.  On Monday August 31, several club members attended the Ride with Politicians event put on by our partners Tacoma on the Go and 2nd Cycle.

In September I hope you are looking forward to our Headwaters Century Ride on Saturday September 12.  There will be a short route and the longer Metric Century both starting from Orting.  The pizza party will again be at Route 66.

Let's hope for some nice dry days in September so we can enjoy the early fall weather.  As always thanks for your membership and support.
