Headwaters Century

Eighteen riders came out to Enumclaw on September 8 for the Headwaters Century. The ride used to be 100 miles; this year it was a series of four rides: a 27-mile, a 36-mile, a 10-mile and a 15-mile ride.

Five riders did the 27-mile route and thirteen riders did the 36-mile route. Both routes passed by the Black Diamond Bakery and most of us stopped for bakery treats and coffee.

All riders returned to Enumclaw to enjoy pie from the Pie Goddess – fresh out of the oven.  Several riders had intended to cycle the 10-mile and/or the 15-mile routes after that but overfull bellies prevented any add-on rides from happening.

The weather was perfect for fall cycling and hills, and everyone enjoyed both the ride and the pie. A big “Thank You” to Harry who marked three of the courses and led the group of longer riders!
