Around the Bicycle Community

Second Cycle, Community Bike Shop envisions a “world where the joy of bike riding is accessible to everybody.” Programs include: The Major Taylor Project; Bicycle Safety; Earn a bike (build your own bike ), working with courts on youth diversion. They have helped 1374 youth and adults and recycled or repaired 2000 or more bikes. They also have an active volunteer program. TWBC contributes to support of Seoncd Cycle’s programs.

Not to be missed is Second Cycle’s main fund raising event: Bike Stories, 2024, October 5, 2024 from 6 to 9pm at the Tacoma Armory. You’ll hear heart warming stories about the impact of bicycles on people’s lives. Leon Nettles, Executive Director, will share the year’s accomplishments.
