Gear Up for the 2024 Headwaters Century: The Grand Finale of Your Summer Riding!

End your summer riding season on a high note with the Headwaters Century, offering routes that promise both beauty and challenge. Starting in the picturesque town of Enumclaw, you can choose between a 29-mile or a 38-mile route, both passing by the famous Black Diamond Bakery. For those looking to extend their ride, there are 10-mile and 15-mile add-on options. At the end of your journey, enjoy free pie from the nearby Pie Goddess, courtesy of TWBC. This ride is perfect for testing your endurance and enjoying the changing seasons.

Route Details: 

  •  HWC 29 mile
    •  1,460’ elevation gain.  
    • This is a loop ride going through the Green River gorge then passing by the Black Diamond Bakery.  The bakery is worth stopping for.  The route then passes by the historical old Kummer School.

  • HWC 38 mile
    • 1,600’ elevation gain.  
    • This is a loop ride that crosses the Green River at the Tacoma Water Headworks Road.  Then ride through the old coal mining town of Ravendale, and on to the famous Black Diamond Bakery.  The route then passes by the historical old Kummer School.

  • HWC Mud Mtn Rd, 15 miles
    • 770’ elevation gain.  
    • This is a somewhat steep ride on SR410 to the Mud Mountain Dam Road that can be added to either of the above rides.

  • HWC 10 mile
    • 120’ elevation gain.  
    • This is an easy ride to view the old 1930’s Boise Creek Bridge near the White River along the Foothills Trail.  This ride can be added to any of the above rides.

What better way to celebrate the end of a great ride than with pie? Join us at the Pie Goddess in Enumclaw for some well-deserved treats, courtesy of the club. It's the perfect sweet ending to our summer series.

  1. Hey, I don't mean to cause a problem, but there isn't a "Saturday, Sept. 8, 2024." My bet is this is taking place Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024. Can you please confirm that? I could be looking at the wrong calendar, of course, but that's what being a cyclist is all about.
