Box 99535 Tacoma, WA 98499 SPANAWAY CHECKPOINT POPULAR WITH STP RIDERS A photo of the Tacoma Wheelmen's Club banner received an enthusiastic cheer from the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic riders at a Sunday morning brunch and slide show in Portland. About 6,000 riders paus- ed at the TWC-staffed Spanaway Checkpoint, the 48 mile rest stop on the 200-mile course. They were greeted by enthusiastic hosts who provided water, juice, food from apples to watermelon along with first aid, mechancial assistance, sympathy and en- couragement.
