Greetings Fellow Cyclists and Club Members. I hope you got out to ride in November as it is our wettest month. I got out on several dry clear days. My most memorable ride was 82km past Enumclaw to King County single Track and back by their dog park to celebrate my birthday.
ForeverGreenTrails Annual Meeting was early in the month and well attended. We had a great presentation by WSDOT’s Steve Fuchs on SR167 and the new 12 mile trail from Tacoma to Puyallup. It is supposed to be open by 2029 and separated from the new highway.
Tom Butler submitted our application for the Cross State Trail Southern Route for the Washington State ScenicBikeways@parks.wa.gov. It runs from Rattlesnake Lake to South Bend Washington.
ForeverGreenTrails , Foothills Rails to Trails Coalition, Tacoma Washington Bicycle Club and others are reviewing the Pierce County Parks PROS Plan which includes our trails system.
We support 2ndCycle and Tacoma on the Go. Several members attended Bike Stories and Cranksgiving this past month.
Our Saturday morning Ride is really not going well. I recommend two bike shop rides. Cascadia Bike Shop puts on a Saturday ride that stops at Delightfull Market on the way back. Wily Bike Works puts on a Saturday morning ride that ends at their shop which has a Coffee shop for you to enjoy.
You might consider following the Tuesday Night Riders as they will be offering several Christmas Lights Rides in December.
On Thanksgiving Day, Charlene and I were coming back to Orting from Burnaby BC. I found out the Orting Eagles Club was offering free dinner from 1 to 3pm. We arrived there at 2:10pm and enjoyed a great dinner including the turkey and the ham with all the trimmings.
I hope you all have a Merry and Peaceful Christmas this year. Thank you for your support.
