Dear TWBC Family,
There is something special about riding on a quiet trail — whether we are putting in miles with our pals or pedaling alone, trails are a pleasant respite from our busy roadways. ForeverGreen Trails (FGT) is working hard to extend and connect our trails so that they become a true network spanning our county — and reaching to neighboring counties, too!
As FGT says, “great trail systems don’t just happen — they take teamwork.” That is why I am personally inviting YOU to join their team by supporting them with a donation (or becoming a member). In doing so, you will join a community working to leave a legacy for future generations of people who ride (or walk, run, or roll).
I have seen FGT’s effectiveness first-hand in educating the public and elected officials, advocating for strong active recreation and mobility policy and funding, and leveraging multi-million-dollar grants for trail projects for our communities (e.g. Pipeline Trail, Parkland Community Trail, and Interurban Trail). The organization helps to coordinate local governments and is tenacious about following up on details large and small to help ensure trails are thoughtfully designed and built.
